 “Mr. College Football,” Tony Barnhart returns to CBS College Sports Network for a second season to host THE TONY BARNHART SHOW PRESENTED BY BASS PRO SHOPS, the critically acclaimed weekly one-hour primetime college football talk show. The hard-hitting program debates and analyzes the hot topics and issues facing college football both on and off-the-field. THE TONY BARNHART SHOW PRESENTED BY BASS PRO SHOPS season premiere on Tuesday, Aug. 31 (9:00 PM, ET) focuses on the biggest off-season story, conference re-alignment, with Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany and Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott.

Barnhart again will invite a variety of high-profile guests from the college football community to the program, including coaches, administrators, writers, broadcasters and former players. Barnhart, along with CBS College Sports Network studio analyst Brian Jones and distinguished guests, offer in-depth lively, opinionated, topical discussions on the world of college football. Last year’s eclectic guests included political consultant James Carville, Senator Orrin Hatch, actress Sela Ward, political commentator Bob Beckel, movie director John Lee Hancock, SEC Head of Officials Rogers Redding, Amani Toomer and others. This season Beano Cook joins the show for a new segment called the “Closing Drive,” with his unique take on college football, as well as prominent guests from outside college football.
 
INSIDE COLLEGE FOOTBALL follows THE TONY BARNHART SHOW every Tuesday throughout the season (10:00 PM, ET) with host Adam Zucker, along with analysts Aaron Taylor, Randy Cross and Jones.  The one-hour fast-paced show offers a preview of the upcoming week’s college football action with opinion, insight and analysis of the most significant storylines and match-ups across the country.

Network Home to Armed Forces Football, Mountain West and Conference USA

 

CBS College Sports Network kicks off its eighth season of college football coverage with an extensive lineup of games, broadcasting 43 games throughout the 2010 season, featuring the best of the Mountain West Conference, Conference USA, Navy, Army plus a slate of NCAA Division II games. 

The Network’s Division I coverage begins Saturday, September, 4 (7:00 PM, ET) as Washington plays BYU, with special live pre-game and post-game coverage from the BYU campus to kick-off the season. Dave Ryan, Aaron Taylor and Brooke Olzendam call the game. Adam Zucker and Brian Jones anchor the pre and post game.

For the second consecutive year, CBS College Sports Network serves as the broadcast home of Armed Forces football and will dedicate a special day of programming to our nation’s Armed Forces and service academies on Saturday, October 30. Coverage is highlighted by a tripleheader featuring home games from each of the service academies: VMI at Army (12:00 NOON, ET), Duke at Navy (3:30 PM, ET) concluding with Utah at 

Air Force (7:30 PM, ET), along with special studio programming throughout the day.

Army leads off its home schedule on CBS College Sports Network against Hawaii on Saturday, Sept. 11 (12:00 NOON, ET). The Black Knight’s broadcast schedule features five games on the Network this season. The Network will again broadcast the complete slate of Navy home games.

CBS College Sports Network enters its fifth year as a broadcast partner of the Mountain West Conference and sixth year with Conference USA, and will again showcase top match-ups including: North Carolina State at UCF (9/11), Boise State at Wyoming (9/18), Houston at SMU (10/23), Air Force at TCU (10/23), TCU at Utah (11/6), and BYU at Utah (11/27).

CBS College Sports Network’s fall studio programming returns as the college football season heats up. For the second consecutive year, THE TONY BARNHART SHOW, INSIDE COLLEGE FOOTBALL and SEC POST GAME SHOW PRESENTED BY GEICO anchor the Network’s line-up, offering viewers all the latest news, notes, highlights and inside information from the college football world.

THE TONY BARNHART SHOW and INSIDE COLLEGE FOOTBALL return for the season on Tuesday, August 31 and SEC POST GAME SHOW PRESENTED BY GEICO follows CBS Sports’ coverage of Florida at Tennessee on Saturday,
September 18.

The Network debuts two new shows this season, CBS COLLEGE SPORTS’ LINE-UP, airing each Thursday and COLLEGE FOOTBALL CONFIDENTIAL broadcast over six Fridays during the season.

Below is a description of all the Network’s shows, including announcers, air dates and times.

THE TONY BARNHART SHOW PRESENTED BY BASS PRO SHOPS (Tuesdays at 9:00 PM) – “Mr. College Football,” Tony Barnhart begins his second season as host of the weekly, one-hour primetime college football talk show. SEC POST GAME SHOW PRESENTED BY GEICO (Saturdays at 7:00 PM) - Following the conclusion of CBS Sports’ SEC Game of the Week, analysts Brian Jones and Phillip Fulmer provide an all-encompassing look at the day’s SEC action.

CBS COLLEGE SPORTS’ LINEUP (Thursdays at 7:30 PM) – A new, weekly 30-minute show hosted by CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson that previews the weekend college football action, focusing on the teams, players and coaches that will be featured on CBS College Sports Network.

SEC TAILGATE (Select Saturdays at 2:00 PM) – From the site of CBS Sports’ SEC Game of the Week, host Dave Baker along with reporter Lauren Shehadi, bring fans a fast paced and authoritative look at football and life in the SEC. The show captures all the excitement, traditions and festivities from the various campuses and stadiums across the SEC, and features local SEC legends and celebrity alumni.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL CONFIDENTIAL (Select Fridays at 7:00 PM) – A new series consisting of six, 30 minute shows that bring fans behind-the-scenes with teams as they practice and prepare for Saturday. CBS College Sports Network will embed with a different Mountain West Conference or Conference USA team, providing an all-access look at their game-week experience through meetings, film sessions, weight training, traditions and more.

INSIDE COLLEGE FOOTBALL EXTRA (Saturdays at 11:30 PM) – Join Host Adam Zucker and analyst Brian Jones to relive all the day’s college football action with comprehensive news and highlights.

MAXPREPS LEMMING REPORT (Thursdays at 8:00 or 11:30 PM) - Hosted by Tom Lemming, the country’s leading college football recruiting expert, MAXPREPS LEMMING REPORT examines the nation’s top prep football players with highlights, news and analysis.

Former Texas Tech University football coach Mike Leach joins CBS College Sports Network’s announcer line-up as a game analyst for the 2010 college football season.  Leach will team with veteran play-by-play announcer Roger Twibell, who also joins the Network this season.

Leach was the head coach at Texas Tech from 2000-09, during which time he led the Red Raiders to ten consecutive bowl games and an 84-43 record.  In 2008, Leach was named Associated Press Big 12 Coach of the Year and was a recipient of the Woody Hayes Award.  Prior to Texas Tech, Leach was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma and Kentucky.

Leach joins CBS College Sports Network’s strong roster of game analysts, including lead game analyst Aaron Taylor, Jason Sehorn and CBS Sports’ Randy Cross. For the second consecutive season Sehorn and play-by-play announcer Dave Ryan serve as the announce team for the Network’s Army home games.  Cross returns to call CBS College Sports Network’s slate of Navy games, teaming with CBS Sports play-by-play announcer Craig Bolerjack for the broadcasts.

Akbar Gbaja-Biamila, who debuted with CBS College Sports Network in 2009, serves as analyst on the Network’s schedule of Division II games.  Gbaja-Biamila is joined in the booth by veteran announcer Jason Knapp.  Brooke Olzendam joins the Network this season as a sideline reporter.

CBS College Sports Network’s studio programming is anchored by Adam Zucker, who is now in his eighth year with the Network. Former University of Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer returns this season as a studio analyst on the Network’s various college football shows, including SEC TAILGATE and SEC POST-GAME SHOW PRESENTED BY GEICO.   Former University of Texas and NFL linebacker Brian Jones returns as a studio analyst, and teams with Fulmer to provide expert analysis and insight every Saturday.

 

Conference USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky and CBS College Sports Network Executive Vice President and General Manager Steve Herbst announced today that Conference USA has extended its contract with CBS College Sports Network through June 2016. 

 
The agreement with CBS College Sports Network remains comprehensive in nature, providing significant national and regional exposure for football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and the 16 other Conference USA sports, including regular season and championship coverage.  With this deal, CBS College Sports Network retains the rights to broadcast more live C-USA events than any other television network.  Additionally, the agreement includes video-on-demand, Internet, broadband and wireless distribution rights for C-USA events.  CBS College Sports Network also retains the rights to sublicense games to its affiliate partners throughout the country.
  
“We are excited to continue our great partnership with CBS College Sports Network,” said Banowsky.  “We have been able to grow together, and we are delighted to announce this extension. The future is very bright for us.”
 
“Conference USA has been a terrific partner and we’re proud to continue showcasing the best of C-USA on CBS College Sports Network,” said Herbst.  “Conference USA was one of the Network’s first long-term partners.  The deal has been an absolute success, helping both CBS College Sports Network and C-USA grow nationally.”
 
C-USA and CBS College Sports Network first entered into its partnership for the 2005-06 athletic season.  Over the past five years, CBS College Sports Network has nearly quadrupled its distribution. The Network has broadcast live more than 400 contests and events featuring C-USA teams.  CBS College Sports Network is available across the country via local cable and video providers and nationally on DISH NETWORK (Channel 152) and DIRECTV (Channel 613).

“K-STATE CONFIDENTIAL” Airs Monday, July 12 at 9:00 PM, ET

 On Monday, July 12 (9:00 PM, ET), CBS College Sports Network debuts K-STATE CONFIDENTIAL,” an hour documentary chronicling Kansas State’s 2010 Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament run to the elite eight. K-STATE CONFIDENTIAL features exclusive, behind-the-scenes access with the Wildcats on-and-off the court.

CBS College Sports Network was embedded with Kansas State from Selection Sunday through the Wildcats Elite Eight loss to Butler. The Network’s cameras captured many intimate team moments during the Wildcats journey, including Coach Frank Martin’s locker room speeches, film sessions, team bus rides and guard Chris Merriewether’s emotional locker room embrace of his teammates for backing him up after a foul he committed against Xavier.

CBS College Sports Network tips-off coverage in Indianapolis with the 2010 NCAA MEN’S FINAL FOUR SALUTE PRESENTATION, live from The Hilbert Circle Theatre. CBS Sports’ lead play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz hosts, as the NCAA honors the coaches and players participating in the Final Four and looks back at their road to Indianapolis.

CBS College Sports Network broadcasts FINAL FOUR PRACTICE PRESENTED BY ENTERPRISE on Friday, April 2 (12:00 NOON-4:30 PM, ET) live from Lucas Oil Stadium during Final Four Friday team practices. The program brings viewers the latest news and press conferences for all four teams. Adam Zucker anchors the coverage along with CBS Sports analysts Greg Anthony, Seth Davis, Wally Szczerbiak, Steve Lappas and guest coaches and analysts. Tracy Wolfson serves as reporter.

In addition, CBS College Sports Network broadcasts the official highlight show of the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, NCAA MARCH MADNESS HIGHLIGHTS PRESENTED BY COKE ZERO, airing immediately following the conclusion of Final Four semi-final games and the National Championship on CBS Sports.  CBS College Sports Network will air two out-of-market games of the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship in their entirety. The broadcasts will be fully produced by CBS Sports with CBS announcers and graphics. The games will air in the areas of natural interest of the competing teams on CBS stations, in addition to CBS College Sports Network.

 
CBS College Sports Network will air the first-round match-ups between UTEP and Butler in the West region on Thursday, March 18 (4:45 PM, ET) from San Jose, Calif. and Utah State versus Texas A&M in the South region on Friday, March 19 (4:45 PM, ET) from Spokane, Wash.
 
Spero Dedes and Bob Wenzel call the game from San Jose, while Tim Brando and Mike Gminski will be on-hand in Spokane to call the action.

Immediately following the conclusion of each day’s games on CBS Sports, NCAA March Madness Highlights PRESENTED by COKE ZERO, will recap the madness of the day with all the scores, news, highlights and analysis, beginning on Thursday, March 18 (12:00 – 1:00 AM).

In addition, NCAA MARCH MADNESS CENTRAL ENGINEERED BY GMC SIERRA brings fans exclusive in-progress game highlights, live look-ins and press conferences from every team at every site from the first-round through the Championship Game. Coverage tips off from CBS College Sports Network’s studio in New York City on Wednesday, March 17 (4:00-7:00 PM, ET).
 
For the fourth consecutive year, CBS College Sports Network will air two first-round out-of-market games of the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship in their entirety. The broadcasts will be fully produced by CBS Sports with its announcers and graphics, and air on CBS stations in the assigned regions.  All other markets will view the game on CBS College Sports Network.  The broadcasts will air as part of NCAA MARCH MADNESS CENTRAL ENGINEERED BY GMC SIERRA on Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19 (specific times and games TBD).
